Neighborhood

Downtown is 20-minutes via bus or light rail

Daybreak Cohousing is located on N Killingsworth Street in the Overlook neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, served daily by TriMet’s route 72 bus, running every 15 minutes. The community founders made a conscious choice not to trade the courtyard maple tree for a parking lot, so street parking encourages other ways to get around.

Residents can walk, bike, or use public transport to get to grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and food trucks. Kaiser Permanente, Providence, and Pacific medical offices are nearby, as well as the Multnomah county library, Portland Community College, parks and schools.

Portland cohousing is growing

Daybreak is part of PDX-Plus Cohousing Group, a regional group for mutual support and connection, meeting quarterly since 2009. It was started as a place of connection and support for the formed and forming cohousing communities in our metro area. The Google Group allows us to to share ideas, questions, suggestions, policies, information and experiences with one another. We also meet in person quarterly, rotating locations among our communities.

I enjoy the kind, generous people, light-filled spaces, gardens, walkable neighborhood, library, public transport, healthcare and restaurants.
