We believe we've found a wonderful neighborhood to create our new home! The Overlook Neighborhood is in close-in North Portland. We feel it has a lot to offer in transportation connections, grocery, restaurants and cafés, schools and community facilities.

Our Transportation options include frequent bus service on Killingsworth, two blocks away is downtown bus service on Greeley.  The Interstate MAX light rail line is a short walk or bus ride to the east.  Our location is on two bike routes and is surrounded by other bike routes, including a bike lane on Greeley offering quick access to downtown.  For an automobile, Greeley offers quick access to downtown and southbound I–5.  Killingsworth offers quick access to North or Southbound I–5.

The neighborhood offers great school options! Beach Elementary offers a traditional cirriculum as well as a Dual Immersion Spanish-English Program. Beach also offers Head Start and a specially designed program for pre-kindergarten. Ockley Green is a K-8 Magnet School with a focus on arts, sciences, and technology.

There are two charter schools nearby. Portland Village School is a Waldorf-methods public charter school. Trillium Charter School offers a K-12 educational program.

Jefferson High School, Portland Community College Cascade Campus and the University of Portland are just one mile away.

A New Seasons Market and the Interstate Farmer’s Market are nearby.  Our neighborhood offers a rich selection of food and coffee: Sohbet Coffee & Cafe, Sagittarius Cafe, Mio Sushi and Sal’s Famous Italian Kitchen are one block away; Beaterville Café, Di Prima Dolce Bakery, Madrona Hill Café, Roux, and Pause are within walking distance.

Other close-by community amenities include the North Portland Public Library Branch, Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center (a multidisciplinary arts center) and many parks. The nearby bluff slopes offer walking and dog walking opportunities. This includes the Dog Bowl, a great area to play with your pooch!
